Students of Chapslee School Bharari spent an exciting and thrilling day while participating in various entertaining and creative competitions held on the occasion of the 41st Founder’s Day Celebrations, here today. CEO Rantanjeet Kanwar Singh and Director-Principal Pronati Singh presided over the function as well as adjudged all the competitions held. Students of Classes 9 to 12 were all exuberant and in high spirits while completing their entry items.

The history of the school dates back to 1st September, 1973 when only three students entered the premises, which slowly expanded into regular classes for Nursery, Kindergarten up to Class 5, with the beginning of the primary section, thereafter. As years followed, so did the strength of the students and gradually it went up to Class 10. The year 2001 was another landmark for the school as they received affiliation from the CBSE Board and admissions were undertaken for Classes 11 and 12. The School now has a Junior section in Lakkar Bazaar and the Senior is located in Bharari.

C1Alumni from the school have excelled in both academic as well as athletic front over the years and can now be seen in HAS, NDA, Administration Services, etc, while in the last 10 years nearly 35 students have represented in the CBSE Athletic Meet. Notable mention was of Arshdeep Singh Randhawa, who represented the school in the Senior Division National Basketball Division in the year 2007-8, becoming the only second boy from the state during those times. The achievement of the school as well their students is quite impressive, and only further proved by the creativity shown through the events held today.

There were quite a few competitions lined up for both the boys and girls — Extempore in which the topic was given two hours before the event; Slogan Writing/Poetry in Hindi or English, for which the topic was ‘Youth, the Pillars of Tomorrow’. For Sketching, the topic was ‘Laughter is the Best Medicine’; and in Painting it was ‘Heaven on Earth’. Imagination and constructiveness was seen when beautiful items were made with waste material, which are worth decorating.

C2Cooking skills were tested as students of classes 10 to 12 made some scrumptious snack in the Dry Cooking competition. The students were required to bring their own ingredients. So next time your kids is hungry you can easily cook up a couple of mouth-watering dishes as these kids did with very basic cooking items. Team Ruchi and Shikha made ‘coconut ladoos with a mixed fruit shake’, while Rohit and Ritik made ‘bhelpuri’. Team Harsh and Ujjwal created a ‘chocolate dream and sandwich delights. Other delicacies produced were sprouted salad, Russian salad and cheese rolls, chaat, sandwich fruit pudding, etc., by students of Class 11 and 12. Shivam, Rajat, Kriti, Aditya, Bismeet, Pallavi, Simran, Sonali, Vanshaj, Alia, Bhupesh, Pratyush and Charu were few of the other participants.

Artistic creativity was yet seen again among girls as they freely expressed themselves through Rangoli colours. Students participating in this event were Ritika, Heena, Nitika, Ayushi, Meenal, Arushi from Class 12; and Nikita, Vijita, Vishakha, Diksha, Ankita, and Chiman from Class 9, who made a couple of very good presentations.

The last on the list of competitions was Collage Making and the topics given were Sports, Bollywood, Cars and Poverty in India. Some amazing results came forward as students spend lots of time in making their work impressive and worth a second look. Anmol Sharma, Shashank, Ketan and Kunal made the collage on respecting women, while Anshul, Abhinay and Akshay gave some great display of photos on cricket.
