Admist the COVID pandemic so far, a total of 80534 people have been
cured in the State of Himachal Pradesh. In the last 24 hours, 1220, patients
have been cured of the disease. A total of 102038 confirmed cases and
1512 deaths have been reported in the state till now. The Government
through a graded, pre-emptive and pro-active approach, is taking several
steps for prevention, containment and management of COVID-19. As the
COVID caseload continues to rise, the importance of physical distancing
rules and following safety protocols cannot be ignored. The most challenging
situation is for the patients who have co morbidities and have higher risk of
morbidity and mortality due to the virus. Many of these people are under
Home Isolation these days. They can contact their mapped Medical Officer
or 104 for medical advice. The government spokesman here informed that
the persons in home isolation can also get on line consultations from their
homes through E sanjeevani OPD platform.

E-sanjeevani OPD is bridging the gap between people, physicians
and health systems and enabling everyone, especially chronic symptomatic
patients, to stay at home and communicate with physicians. It is rapidly
gaining popularity amongst patients and doctors.
To avail this service the patient should download the e sanjeevani app
from the Google Playstore on any Android supported phone. Once the app
is downloaded open the app and click on the “Patient Registration”. This
should be followed by entry of your own mobile number and selection of
State of Himachal Pradesh, selection of E-OPD. After that click on the option
of “Send OTP”. Now enter the OTP received on your registered mobile
number and click on OK button. Enter the details like name, age, sex, city, state and then click on the button “Generate Patient Id and Token.”This
shall be followed by the steps depicted below in the flow chart.

The spokesperson apprised that this user friendly app has helped many patients
to reach out to their doctors and get online prescriptions in the safe environments
of their homes. This has helped many home isolated patients to get consultations
on COVID related symptoms and also keep them motivated and away from any
mental health related issues during their recovery. He further emphasized that
every patient must take at least two consultations during their Home isolation
period.

On the vaccination front, it was informed that the COVID Vaccination drive is
currently going on at a good pace in Himachal Pradesh. 22% of the entire
population have been covered so far. Approximately 76% of 45 years and above
population has been vaccinated with 1st Dose.

COVID Vaccination for the age group 18 years to 44 years will be initiated soon in
the state as the Govt of India has informed us that Serum Institute India will be
supplying the State 1,07,620 doses against the demand raised by the Himachal
Pradesh to start with. It is expected to arrive soon in the state. Covid vaccination
of the Age group 18-44 will be started once these doses are received in the state.
It is clarified for the information of all that the sessions for appointment and
scheduling will be visible only after the vaccine doses have been received in the
state. Dr. Nipun Jindal requested all the persons with age group 18-44 years not
to visit any vaccination center till they schedule their appointment at the COWIN
portal and which will be possible only after the vaccine is available.

He further urged all the remaining 45 years and above age people who have not
got their COVID vaccination to come forward and get themselves vaccinated at
their nearby COVID Vaccination Centre as early as possible. Those people who
are due for 2nd dose vaccination which is essential to be taken after a gap of 4-8
weeks from the first Dose should also get their vaccination when due. He informed
that there is no shortage of vaccine for this age group. The public is appealed to
abide by COVID Appropriate behaviour even after completing 2 doses of COVID
vaccination.
