Winston Churchill once said, “A love for tradition has never weakened a nation, indeed it has strengthened nations in their hour of peril”. DAV Public School, Lakkar Bazar sets a perfect example of truly believing and following Indian traditions by organising a Havan Yagna along with the Arya State Representative Sub-Committee, Himachal Pradesh, here today, in the school campus. Managing Director and DAV CMC, S.K. Sharma and DAV School Regional Director (HP, Zone II), Shashi Kiran were also present as the Chief Guests for the event. Principals from various DAV Schools in the Zone were also invited for the occasion.
S.K. Sharma gave the students an insight on moral values and said, “Along with modern education, it is very important for each and every child to have good moral values. No matter how intelligent you are, without good moral values, you are just a body without a soul. Moral values start at very basic level like respecting your elders, teachers and parents. There is necessity of both education and moral values in becoming good citizens. With kindness, honesty and hard work you can achieve whatever you want to in life. I wish all the students best of luck for their future”.
Regional Director Shashi Kiran said, “Albert Einstein also believed in the greatness of our country because he once said ‘we owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made’. We should be proud of our country’s rich history and culture. I would like to advice all the students present here to always value our tradition and culture because they form the basic foundation of who we are”.
The event officially ended with the speech by School Principal Ritu Beri who appreciated the presence of the all the principals and the chief guest and said, “I would like to thank you all for being present here today. The school’s main aim is the overall development of the children by providing them education in Vedic/Hindu/Indian values and culture in a social and enjoyable atmosphere. We will continue to do that and inculcate a sense of pride among our children for our culture”.
