Save Earth from Global Warming — DAV Juniors Message to All

DAV_1Students of Primary Section, DAV School, Lakkar Bazar celebrated their Annual Day here today at Gaiety Theatre as guests and parents witnessed this cultural fest and thoroughly enjoyed it to the fullest, wherein students showcased immense talent and creativity. The theme of the event was “Global Warming” and Shimla City Mayor Sanjay Chauhan presided over the function as the chief guest. The function began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest along with the Principal Ritu Berry. Honouring the Chief Guest, Principal Berry presented him with a token of appreciation and then informed the parents about the achievements and activities that took place throughout the last academic year. She highlighted the school’s academic growth and achieving 100 per cent results in the previous academic session and emphasis on co-curricular and extracurricular activities which simply spoke of the opportunities that a child was exposed to at DAV schools. Thereafter, the chief guest awarded prizes to all the winners.

The variety entertainment program began with children showing how humans destroyed mother Earth by polluting water and air. The audiences applauded the efforts and talent of the young children who gave a vital message through their beautiful dance performances. The sequence of the performances was as follows: ‘Jhumiri’, ‘Yantrikaran’, ‘Gasses in the air’, ‘Dhudhdhla hai’. The students also showed the way through which the humans could rectify their mistake and make mother Earth green and clean like before. By performing ‘Vriksh Lagao’, they gave a message of planting more trees. The program concluded with the soul cleansing hawan mantras recited by the students.

The function ended on a very pleasant note as the chief guest gave an encouraging speech to the students and said, “I would like to thank Principal Berry for giving me an opportunity to be present here and be a part of this wonderful event. I would like to congratulate all the teachers and every person who has contributed in making this annual day a resounding success. I admired the way through which the children gave out the message of Stop Global Warming. The children’s performance seemed to be at par with that of mature artists. These functions help children to overcome their stage fear and increase their level of confidence. I wish the children all the best for a bright future”.
