The primary section of DAV School, Lakkar Bazar celebrated their annual sports day today in the Senior School. Principal Kamna Beri greeted the chief guests, Sanjay Chauhan and Sanjay Khanna, alumni’s of the 1980s batch, who then declared the meet open as they lighted the lamp. Soon after, the sports events began with a Vandana performance, which was followed by a March Past by the students. All the students of classes one and two participated in one event or the other. Principal Beri said, “By organizing such event students get a feeling of competitiveness and it is also good for their mental and physical fitness. Participation is more important than winning and we lay emphasis on the all round performance of children”.
First item on the agenda was an exhilarating and riveting drill performance, followed by the thrilling races such as the Leg Race, Stick and Ball Race, Kangaroo Race, Ball Race, Duck Race, Book Balancing Race, Bottle Race, Cap Race and the Balloon Race.
Loud applause was heard from all around the campus as parents cheered for their children. The chief guest awarded all the prize winners and congratulated them all on such a terrific performance. School In-charge Manisha Kukreja was also present among other staff members to ensure that the programme was a success.
