To improve English language skills and dexterity, the Headmaster of Bishop Cottons School, held the BL Modi Memorial Inter House Invitational Education Competition here today, in memory of late BL Modi who was a dedicated and a very punctual employee of the school. Auckland House School Principal Sunita John presided over the function as the chief guest, in which students from 13 schools participated. These were Auckland House School; Chapslee School; Chinnmaya Vidyalaya, Nauni; Convent of Jesus and Mary; Durga Public School, Solan; Himalayan international School, Charabara; Loreto Convent Tara Hall; Pinegrove School, Kasauli; Shimla Public School; St Lukes School, Solan; St Mary School; St Edwards School and Bishop Cottons School.
Students from various schools showcased their oratory skills in various competitions, such as poetry, prose, drama, etc. In the Junior Category Class VI Division A Poetry, the winner was Mannat Bhumra from Convent of Jesus and Mary School, while Yashvardha from St Edwards School was adjudged as the most promising speaker.
In the Intermediate category from Class VII, Division A, Kartik Walia from Bishop Cottons School was adjudged as the Best Speaker, while Bhavya from Convent of Jesus and Mary School received the most promising speaker award. In Division B, Prose, Class VIII, Mayanka Chauhan from Auckland House School bagged the Best Speaker award, while Atik Gupta from Bishop Cottons School received the most promising speaker award.
In the Senior Division, Class IX and X, Drama category, Muskaan Verma from Auckland House Schhol was awarded the Best Speaker, while Akshaj Sood from St Lukes School, Solan, was awarded the most promising speaker prize. In the Open Division Turncoat, Classes XI and XII, Yashvardhan from Bishop Cottons School received the Best Speaker award, while Arnav Bali from St Edwards School received the most promising speaker award.
Bishop Cottons School received the overall winners’ award. School Headmaster Christopher Robinson, Principal Sunita John and representative from other schools were also present to encourage the students. Principal John awarded all the winners and congratulated them on their brilliant performances. She lauded the efforts of all the participants on giving such beautiful narrations and wished them success in the future.
