Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu joined a solemn candlelight march in Shimla, organized by the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), to protest the brutal terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The march commenced from Sher-e-Punjab and concluded at the historic Ridge Maidan, where Congress leaders paid heartfelt tributes to the 28 victims.
United Against Terrorism: A Message from Himachal
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sukhu strongly condemned the cowardly act, stating that such incidents threaten the unity and integrity of the nation. He affirmed that Himachal Pradesh stands united with the Union Government in combating terrorism. “We vow to eliminate every force that tries to disturb the peace of our country,” he declared.
The CM emphasized that the Congress Party has a legacy of sacrifice for national unity, recalling the martyrdom of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi.
