A two-week national workshop on “Analysis of Dynamical Systems and Applications to Control Systems” concluded on a high note at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. Held from June 9 to June 21, 2025, the workshop was organized by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the National Centre for Mathematics (NCM)—a joint initiative of IIT Bombay and TIFR, Mumbai.
The event brought together leading mathematicians, researchers, and students from across India to explore cutting-edge topics in dynamical systems, mathematical modeling, stability analysis, nonlinear systems, and control theory.
The workshop was inaugurated by JUIT Vice Chancellor Prof. R.K. Sharma, alongside senior academic leaders including Prof. A.K. Gupta (Dean, Academics), Prof. Sudhir Syal (Dean, Research & Internationalization), Prof. Sunil Khah (Dean, Accreditation), and Prof. Shruti Jain (Associate Dean, Research and Innovation). Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Pathak and Dr. Saurabh Srivastava served as workshop coordinators, while Dr. Rakesh Kumar Bajaj, Head of the Department of Mathematics, was the convener and driving force behind the event’s planning and execution.
Prominent speakers from reputed institutions—such as Prof. Syed Abbas (IIT Mandi), Prof. A.K. Nandakumaran (IISc Bangalore), Prof. Mani Mehra (IIT Delhi), Dr. D.N. Pandey (IIT Roorkee), Dr. Bidhan Chandra Sardar (IIT Madras), and Dr. Tanmay Sarkar (IIT Jammu)—shared their expertise through in-depth lectures. These were complemented by tutorial sessions led by Dr. Ranjith T (IISc), Ms. Deeksha Srivastava (IIT Roorkee), Mr. Shivam Mishra (IIT Mandi), and Mr. Sarvesh (IIT Delhi), providing hands-on learning opportunities in problem-solving and computational techniques.
Participants, including faculty, PhD scholars, and postgraduate students from various institutions across the country, actively engaged in lectures, tutorials, and discussions, creating a dynamic learning environment. The concluding ceremony was attended by university deans, department heads, faculty, and students. Organizers were felicitated with copies of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and certificates, while all participants received certificates of participation.
The event was widely praised for its academic rigor, smooth execution, and warm hospitality. Special appreciation was extended to the PhD scholars of the Mathematics Department for ensuring a comfortable stay for outstation participants. The organizing committee also expressed gratitude to technical, administrative, and support staff for their crucial behind-the-scenes contributions.
This workshop reaffirmed JUIT’s reputation as a hub for mathematical excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration, furthering its mission to nurture academic talent and foster a culture of continuous learning and research.
