Members of the Hospital Welfare Section of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan today and handed over a cheque of ₹1.11 lakh, a contribution raised by the IAS Wives Association.
The Governor, who also serves as the President of the State Red Cross Society, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation. He stated that the funds will be used to provide medical and humanitarian aid to underprivileged and vulnerable individuals in the state.
Praising the association’s commitment to social welfare, the Governor said, “The Red Cross has long stood by those in need, and such acts of compassion significantly strengthen our mission.“ He encouraged other organizations and individuals to come forward in support of Red Cross initiatives aimed at alleviating human suffering.
Present during the interaction were Secretary to the Governor C.P. Verma and members of the IAS Wives Association, including Ritika Jindal, Meeta Pant, Jhumpa Jamwal, and Poonam Sharma.
