SJVN Limited has signed significant agreements with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), further strengthening its commitment to clean energy and enhancing national power infrastructure.

A Power Sale Agreement (PSA) was signed with UPPCL for the supply of electricity from the 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project, currently under development in Nepal. Simultaneously, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) were executed for two other upcoming hydro projects—210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 382 MW Sunni Dam—both located in Himachal Pradesh.

The signing ceremony took place at SJVN’s Liaison Office in New Delhi in the esteemed presence of Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director (Additional Charge), and  Sushil Sharma, Director (Projects), SJVN. Speaking on the occasion, Bhupender Gupta stated that these agreements are a vital step toward realizing the vision of a cleaner and more reliable energy future for the country. He added that they will also boost energy access in urban areas and support sustainable development goals.

The PSA for Arun-III was signed by R.K. Gupta, Chief General Manager (Power Trading), SJVN, and Deepak Raizada, Director (Corporate Planning), UPPCL. The PPAs for Luhri Stage-I and Sunni Dam were signed by Ashok Kumar, General Manager (C&SO), SJVN, and  Deepak Raizada.

The 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project is being executed in the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal through SJVN’s wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd. On commissioning, the project is expected to supply clean power to the Indian grid and play a vital role in meeting the region’s rising energy needs. Commissioning is targeted for the financial year 2027–28.

The 210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 382 MW Sunni Dam projects, both under construction on the river Satluj in Himachal Pradesh, are also key components of SJVN’s green energy portfolio. Collectively, they will contribute 592 MW of renewable energy to the national grid and are expected to generate approximately 2,140 million units of electricity annually. Both projects are scheduled for commissioning by December 2028.

Further strengthening its partnerships in urban clean energy supply, SJVN signed another Power Purchase Agreement with NDMC for the 382 MW Sunni Dam project. The agreement was signed at the NDMC headquarters in New Delhi between Ashok Kumar, General Manager (C&SO), SJVN, and Brajesh Kumar Yadav, Superintending Engineer (Electrical), NDMC.
