St. Thomas’ School Fosters Artistic Talent Through Poetry and Song Contests

On August 8th, St. Thomas’ School Shimla came alive with creativity and talent as it hosted an Inter-House Hindi Poetry, English Poetry, and English Group Song Competition. The event was graced by the Vice-Principal, Sharon Nanda, who presided over the function, which began with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Esteemed judges for the event were Sejal Rawat and Rohini Dogra.

Students from Classes 2 to 5, representing the school’s four houses—Kasturi, Toshqui, Chinar, and Shipkila—enthusiastically participated in the competitions.

Hindi Poetry Competition

  • Classes 2 & 3 recited poems under the theme Ab to macha hai hahakaar.”

    • 1st Place: Toshqui House

    • 2nd Place: Shipkila House

  • Classes 4 & 5 presented poems on the theme Kudrat.”

    • 1st Place: Kasturi House

    • 2nd Place: Shipkila House

English Poetry Competition

  • Classes 2 & 3 performed the poem Let’s Go Out and Play.”

    • 1st Place: Chinar House

    • 2nd Place: Toshqui House

  • Classes 4 & 5 presented The Magic of Everyday.”

    • 1st Place: Shipkila House

    • 2nd Place: Chinar House

English Group Song Competition

  • In a spirited musical finale, Toshqui House clinched the 1st Place, followed by Kasturi House in 2nd Place.

Vice-Principal Sharon Nanda commended the students for their enthusiasm and dedication. She encouraged them to continue participating in such enriching activities and assured that similar competitions would be organized in the future to nurture talent and creativity.
