In a landmark initiative promoting preventive healthcare, Auckland House School for Girls successfully conducted its first-ever Cervical Cancer Vaccination Drive at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla. Over 120 students aged 9 years and above received the HPV vaccine during the drive, marking a significant step in safeguarding adolescent health.

This vaccination initiative was a follow-up to a health awareness workshop held two months earlier by Dr. Alok, which educated parents, teachers, and students on the critical role of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer and promoting long-term well-being.

Principal Smaraki Samantaroy, speaking at the event, emphasized the school’s deep commitment to student welfare. “At Auckland House School, the health and well-being of our children matters more than anything else. This vaccination drive was organised at concessional rates because for us, it is not about business but about safeguarding the lives of our students,” she said. She further highlighted the school’s role as a socially responsible institution, adding, “When a woman is healthy, she safeguards the well-being of an entire family.”

Samantaroy also extended heartfelt thanks to the IGMC staff for their support and collaboration in ensuring the smooth execution of the drive.

Through this proactive step, Auckland House School has reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education—blending academic excellence with health awareness—aiming to nurture informed, responsible, and healthy citizens of the future.
