Himachal Pradesh has ordered the closure of all schools and colleges across the State until September 7, 2025, due to relentless heavy rainfall, flash floods, and landslides. This shutdown applies to both government and private institutions. The decision, announced under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, aims to protect students and staff amid escalating weather-related emergencies. The extreme weather has severely disrupted life across the state. Landslides and building collapses have been reported, resulting in multiple fatalities. Several districts, including Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, and Solan, are particularly affected. Roads have been blocked, electricity and water supplies disrupted, and disaster response teams are operating on high alert.
