SJVN Honors 150 Years of the National Song

Under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta, SJVN Limited celebrated the 150th anniversary of the iconic National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ by organizing a mass singing event at its Corporate Headquarters in Shimla today.

The celebration was attended by Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, along with senior officials and employees. To mark the beginning of the year-long celebrations, similar mass singing events were held across all SJVN projects and offices across India.

On this historic occasion, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from New Delhi, with the address live-streamed for SJVN employees. The Prime Minister highlighted that the collective singing of Vande Mataram is a profound act that evokes unity, courage, and national pride. He emphasized that there is no goal India cannot achieve and expressed confidence that this celebration would ignite new energy and patriotism among all citizens.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar Sharma said, “Vande Mataram is not merely a song—it embodies the spirit and cultural heritage of India. Today’s celebration connects us emotionally with the soul of the nation.”

The initiative is part of the nationwide commemorations organized by the Government of India from November 7, 2025, to November 7, 2026, aimed at fostering unity, pride, and cultural awareness. Reaffirming its commitment to nation-building, SJVN Limited will continue to organize diverse programs and activities throughout the year to promote national integration and cultural consciousness on this historic occasion.
