Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today extended a warm welcome to the ‘Children of the State’ who recently returned from an all-India educational exposure tour. Interacting with the children at his official residence, the Chief Minister listened keenly as they shared their experiences, describing the journey as inspiring, educational and memorable.
Motivating the children to dream big, Sukhu stated that the Sukh-Aashray Scheme is not just a welfare programme but a heartfelt commitment by the State Government to nurture the hopes and aspirations of the ‘Children of the State’. He assured that the government would provide coaching for higher education and bear the entire cost of their studies after Plus Two.
The Chief Minister emphasized that these children are equal stakeholders in the resources of Himachal Pradesh, which are being purposefully utilized to uplift the underprivileged and ensure inclusive development.
The educational tour was organized with the objective of exposing the children to India’s cultural heritage, national integration, modern infrastructure and premier educational institutions, contributing to their holistic development.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister released a booklet titled “Sapnon Ki Udaan” documenting the children’s journey, while a short documentary on the exposure visit was also screened.
A total of 52 children were sent on the exposure visit from Shimla on January 6, 2026, under the Chief Minister Sukh-Aashray Scheme. Advocate General Anup Ratan, MLA Vivek Sharma and other district officers were present during the event.
