The tableau presented by the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh, stood out as one of the key attractions during the State-level Republic Day celebrations held at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla, capturing the attention of spectators and dignitaries alike.
The tableau vividly showcased the achievements of the recently organised HIM MSME Fest 2026, with its centrepiece highlighting the creation of a Guinness World Record through the exhibition of 4,023 handloom shawls woven on handlooms. The milestone reflected the State’s rich handloom tradition and the craftsmanship of Himachal Pradesh’s artisan community.
Addressing the occasion, Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said that the tableau symbolised the State’s vast industrial potential by blending tradition with innovation. He added that such initiatives reaffirm Himachal Pradesh’s journey towards self-reliance and sustainable economic growth.
The tableau also featured successful startups, flagship departmental schemes and key policy-driven achievements, all of which received widespread appreciation from the public.
Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) R.D. Najeem noted that the display highlighted the State’s strategic industrial vision, where traditional strengths are being amplified through modern platforms. He said HIM MSME Fest 2026 demonstrated how focused institutional support can elevate local enterprises to global recognition.
Commissioner of Industries Dr Yunus emphasised that the fest provided a strong platform for MSMEs to showcase products and ideas, ensuring a meaningful convergence of heritage, innovation and enterprise-led growth.
The tableau further highlighted initiatives such as CEO interaction meets, the One District One Product programme, women entrepreneurship initiatives and startup-focused sessions, which have helped unlock new investment opportunities across the State.
Additional Director of Industries Tilak Raj Sharma said that structured engagement with industry leaders and targeted support for women entrepreneurs and innovators have fostered a conducive investment ecosystem, expected to significantly strengthen the State’s economy in the coming years.
Overall, the Industries Department’s tableau effectively conveyed Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to inclusive, sustainable and innovation-driven industrial development.
