The spokesperson of the Empowerment of SCs, OBCs, Minorities & Specially Abled Department (ESOMSA) informed that the department is implementing skill development courses for Scheduled Caste youth of the state in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, Shimla. The training programmes are being conducted under the centrally sponsored scheme Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY).
He said that the initiative proposes to offer courses such as Concepts of Artificial Intelligence Technology, Office Automation, and Accounting and Publishing Assistant to enhance the technical and professional skills of eligible candidates.
The programme aims to provide free skill training to Scheduled Caste youth in the state. In addition, trainees will also receive a monthly stipend of ₹2,000 during the training period, in accordance with the provisions of the scheme.
