Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, announced that the Himachal Pradesh government has released Rs 500 crore to settle pending payments of contractors, covering dues up to 1st March. This follows an earlier release of Rs 250 crore for the same purpose.

Speaking to the media, Chauhan said the government is maintaining financial discipline and will ensure that no obstacles hinder the state’s development. He criticised the opposition for repeatedly commenting on the state’s finances without cooperating on key issues, adding that the public will question their role when the state’s interests are at stake.

Chauhan also highlighted that during a recent disaster, the Prime Minister had announced Rs 1,500 crore for Himachal Pradesh, which the state has yet to receive. He noted that Congress MP Rajni Patil raised the issue in Parliament, while BJP MPs from Himachal Pradesh did not address the discontinuation of RDG and related financial assistance. Despite these challenges, the state government continues to take measures to strengthen finances and promote development.
