NITI Aayog today launched an anthology titled Divya Bharat: A Window to the Soul of India”, aimed at encouraging citizens and international travellers to explore India’s diverse tourism landscape in a structured and immersive manner.

The anthology was released by Vice Chairman NITI Aayog Suman Bery in the presence of CEO Nidhi Chibber, Secretary Ministry of Tourism Bhuvnesh Kumar, Programme Director Yugal Joshi, along with senior officials from the Ministries of Tourism and Culture and NITI Aayog.

Speaking on the occasion, Suman Bery highlighted tourism as a key driver of growth aligned with the vision of the Prime Minister. He stressed the need for each state to develop world-class destinations, extend tourist stays, and strengthen domestic and religious tourism. He also underscored the importance of Centre–State collaboration, data-driven policymaking, and improved infrastructure, while appreciating efforts to create a unified platform for promoting India’s tourism globally.

Designed as a year-round travel companion, Divya Bharat presents destinations through a seasonal framework, aligning places to visit with different months of the year. It showcases a blend of iconic monuments, heritage sites, cultural traditions, festivals, cuisine, and lesser-known destinations across all States and Union Territories.

The anthology promotes experiential tourism by encouraging deeper engagement with local communities and traditions, moving beyond conventional sightseeing. It also aims to support balanced tourism by distributing travel across seasons and regions, thereby boosting local economies and preserving cultural heritage.

The launch event was attended by representatives from industry and academic institutions, including Airbnb, Atithi Foundation, ISPP, IITTM, and IAMAI, highlighting collaborative efforts between government, industry, and knowledge partners.

NITI Aayog stated that “Divya Bharat” will serve as a comprehensive resource for travellers, policymakers, and stakeholders, promoting sustainable tourism, cultural pride, and inclusive growth across the country.
