CM Sukhu hosted a delegation of students from his home constituency, Nadaun, alongside PhD research scholars from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) at his official residence, ‘Oak Over’. The interactive session centered on student welfare, higher education reforms, and leveraging youth-led research to accelerate regional growth across the Nadaun belt.
During the discussion, Chief Minister Sukhu reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Himachal Pradesh into a hub for modern education and skill development. He emphasized that strengthening state-run educational institutions is essential for long-term progress, pointing to recent policy moves such as introducing CBSE affiliation in government schools, filling long-vacant teaching positions, and offering highly subsidized education loans at just 1% interest under the Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojana.
Highlighting the vital role of academia in governance, the Chief Minister stressed that fresh perspectives and research insights from the youth will be pivotal in shaping the development roadmap for Nadaun. In response, the visiting HPU scholars and local students pledged their full support and active collaboration to drive community progress and regional initiatives forward.
