Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu lauded the inspiring efforts of women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the JICA Forestry Project during his official visit to Kaza.

At the Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar initiative hosted at Ladaracha Ground on Wednesday evening, CM Sukhu toured the JICA Forestry Project stall, where enthusiastic members from six women-led SHGs presented their work.

Inspecting the all-natural, chemical-free offerings on display, the Chief Minister warmly praised the women for their craftsmanship and initiative, particularly noting their Seabuckthorn-derived products—rich in Vitamin C—and intricate handmade carpets. He commended their dedication and highlighted how these groups are paving the path toward economic independence by building sustainable, self-reliant livelihoods.

Distinguished attendees included Lahaul-Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana, ACF Wildlife Spiti Chaman Lal Thakur, JICA Forestry Project Subject Matter Specialist Ashutosh Pathak, FTU Coordinator Kaza Meenakshi Bodh, alongside senior officials from the Forest Department and the JICA Project.
