Energy and team spirit filled the air at Auckland House School for Boys, Shimla, as the Junior Section hosted its Annual Sports Day 2026 at the school ground. The event brought together students, teachers, and proud parents for a colorful display of athletic coordination, discipline, and sportsmanship. The morning festivities commenced at 10 am with Sharon Nanda, Principal of St. Thomas School, Shimla, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The audience was treated to an array of physical demonstrations featuring PT, yoga, and skating routines by Class I and II students, while young sports enthusiasts from UKG to Class II displayed agility through gymnastics and Taekwondo. Excitement peaked during the novelty races designed for each age group, starting with Nursery’s Bunny and Animal Feast races, LKG’s Hat in the Go and Ball in the Cup challenges, and UKG’s Gumboots and Bag Venture races. Class I students tested their balance in the Great Cup and Hoopla races, while Class II wrapped up the track events with Pyramid Formations and Ball Balancing. Spectators also stepped onto the field for a playful round of Musical Chairs and an enthusiastic Parents’ Race.
The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Sharon Nanda commended the young participants for their energy, confidence, and determination. In her address, she emphasized that sports play a vital role in building character, teaching discipline, and encouraging children to face challenges with a positive mindset, while applauding the school community for nurturing growth beyond the classroom.
