A spokesperson of the Health Department said here today that during Covid-19 pandemic National Ambulance Service-108 and JSSK-102 has played a vital role by providing testing services and transportation to the sick people.
He said that since April 2020, at the onset of the pandemic, 21 JSSK-102 ambulances were designated to collect the Covid samples across the districts in Himachal Pradesh. A total of 2,15,074 samples have been collected till date through these mobile vans. In addition to this service, Jeevan Dhara Mobile Medical Units are also been used for collection of Covid samples at the doorstep of the people residing in hard to reach areas. Till 13th June, 2021, as many as 8,148 samples have been collected through these Mobile Medical Units.
He further said that National Ambulance Service-108 has played a vital role to provide emergency transportation services for the seriously sick Covid-19 patients. Till date, 41,712 Covid positive patients have availed the transportation services to the various health institutions. In addition, JSSK-102 has been utilized to drop the Covid patients from the hospital to their homes after recovery. A total of 4,898 patients have been dropped home till date.
He further added that in the last week, 298 Covid positive patients were taken to various health institutions and 253 drop backs after recovery were availed through JSSK-102. In addition JSSK-102 sampling vans collected Covid samples of 6,483 patients in the last one week.
