CM Condoles Demise of Former Hockey captain

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had condoled the sad demise of Padam Shree Charanjit Singh, former Captain of Indian hockey team who won gold medal in Tokyo Olympics in 1964. Charanjit Singh hailed from Mairi in Amb sub division of Una district. He breathed his last today at his native place. He was 92. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that Charanjit Singh was an excellent sportsman who was conferred Padam Shree and Arjun award for his outstanding contributions in sports. Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.
