A state level awareness program will be organized in Shimla on the occasion of International Drug Prevention Day on 26th June, 2022 to bring awareness among the general public about the ill effects of consuming drugs and substances. This was stated by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Subhasish Panda while presiding over the coordination meeting to organize the program here today. This program will be organized by the State Taxes and Excise Department and Himachal Pradesh Drug Prevention Board in collaboration with various departments. The Principal Secretary directed the officers to ensure the participation of every section of the society in the program so that it could be taken forward like a campaign mode. He said that painting competitions, marathon, oath on drug prevention, skits, cultural programme, awareness exhibition and various programs would be organized on drug prevention theme on this occasion.
Subhasish Panda said that this program would also be organized at the district level in collaboration with the district administration. He directed the officers to complete all the preparations related to the program in a time bound manner with mutual coordination. Commissioner State Taxes and Excise Yunus conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Convener-cum-Advisor Himachal Pradesh Drug Prevention Board Om Prakash Sharma, Additional Principal Conservator, Management Sushil Kapata, DIG S.Arul Kumar, Director Youth Services and Sports Rajesh Sharma, Additional Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise Sunil Sharma, Superintendent of Police Dr. Monika, Additional District Magistrate Rahul Chauhan, Senior Medical Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Pathak and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
