Join us in celebrating the spirit of Army Day 2024 with the first-ever “Know Your Army” Mela organized by Headquarters Army Training Command (HQ ARTRAC) at Shimla. This grand event, scheduled for 15th and 16th January 2024, promises a showcase of Indian Army achievements, exciting demonstrations, and engaging competitions. Here’s a glimpse of what awaits you at the event:

“Know Your Army” Mela Schedule:

15th January 2024 (Army Golf Course, Annandale)

  • Sky Diving Demonstration by Army Adventure Wing (8:00 AM onwards)
  • Army ‘Pipe Band’ Display
  • Display by Army ‘Kalaripayattu Team’ (Ancient Indian Martial Art)
  • Display by Army ‘Gatka Team’
  • Dog Show
  • Equipment/Weapon Display Stalls
  • Information and Motivation Stalls
  • Food Court

16th January 2024 (The Ridge, Shimla)

  • Equipment/Weapon Display (2:30 PM onwards)
  • Drawing/Painting Competition
  • Extempore Speech Competition for Adults/Children
  • Display by Army ‘Kalaripayattu Team’
  • Display by Army ‘Gatka Team’
  • Army ‘Pipe Band’ Display
  • Chhavi Souvenir Shop
  • Display by Army Entrepreneurs

Competitions for School/College Students:

Drawing/Painting Competition:

  • Date and Time: 16th January 2024, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
  • Venue: Amateur Dramatics Club, The Ridge, Shimla
  • Age Categories: Junior (6-12 yrs) and Senior (13-17 yrs)
  • Topics: Explore your creativity on themes such as “India Army Soldiers in War,” “My Country, My Army,” and “Life in the Army.”
  • Materials: Bring your own colors; no water/acrylic colors allowed. A3 sheets provided.
  • Winners: Medal of Appreciation and Certificate by HQ ARTRAC

Extempore Speech Competition:

  • Date and Time: 16th January 2024, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
  • Venue: The Ridge, Shimla
  • Age Categories: Junior (13-17 yrs), Senior (17-22 yrs), and Adults (Open to All)
  • Topics: Engage in thoughtful discussions on topics like “Women in Military,” “Role of Indian Army in Nation Building,” and more.
  • Limited seats: First come, first served basis. Only 10 entries per category.
  • Speaking time: 2-3 minutes maximum.
  • All participants receive a Certificate after the event.
