SJVN Granted Navratna Status – New Responsibilities as a Navratna CPSE

On the momentous occasion of SJVN being awarded the prestigious Navratna status, the management team, including Sushil Sharma (CMD), Akhileshwar Singh (Director Finance), and Ajay Kumar Sharma (Director Personnel designate), met with Hon’ble Minister of Power, Manohar Lal, to express their gratitude and seek further guidance. The meeting also included Secretary Power, Pankaj Agarwal, and Joint Secretary (Hydro), Md Afzal.

During this courtesy call, the Hon’ble Minister congratulated SJVN on achieving Navratna status, encouraging the team to embrace this new responsibility as a challenge. He emphasized the importance of SJVN’s role in nation-building and urged the organization to continue growing and contributing to India’s energy sector.

The Minister highlighted the need for SJVN, along with other Power Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), to develop a specialized workforce equipped with skills in the latest Power Generation technologies. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts in Research & Development (R&D) to foster innovation and implement cost-optimization strategies across both power generation and transmission sectors.

As SJVN embarks on this new chapter as a Navratna CPSE, the guidance from the Power Ministry sets the stage for a future-focused approach, emphasizing skill development, technological advancement, and R&D-driven solutions.
