Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Chairman R.S. Bali today inaugurated the three-day historic Shri Chikhdeshwar Mahadev Rishi Panchami Deorighat fair in Theog area of Shimla district being organised from 8-10 September. 

Addressing the gathering on this occasion Bali congratulated the people of Himachal Pradesh for preserving their rich culture and traditions. He said it was praiseworthy that the younger generations were making efforts to protect them. He said the state government was committed to preserving and promoting Himachal’s cultural heritage through various fairs and festivals.

R.S Bali instructed tourism officials to install coffee table book and photo gallery showcasing Dev Parampara culture in each district of the state. He said these galleries should be installed in all tourism department hotels, enabling tourists to experience Dev culture.

The Chairman announced Rs. 5 lakh from the Tourism Department and rupees one lakh from his discretionary fund to the Mela Committee. Later, he also inspected the Tourism Department’s hotel in Fagu and issued directions for its renovation.
