MLA Sanjay Awasthi announced that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh has created over 31,000 government jobs in just two years. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to providing employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Comparison with Previous Government
Sanjay Awasthi criticized former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, stating that during the BJP government’s five-year tenure, only 20,000 jobs were created. He accused the previous administration of delaying job opportunities due to legal hurdles, leaving the state’s youth disappointed.
Efforts of the Current Government
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Congress government resolved these challenges and exceeded the employment numbers of the previous government within a much shorter time frame.
Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Start-Up Yojna
The state government has also launched the Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Start-Up Yojna with a budget of Rs. 680 crore. This initiative aims to provide self-employment opportunities to the youth, further strengthening the state’s economic landscape.
Call for Accountability and Advocacy
Sanjay Awasthi accused BJP leaders of misleading the public and called upon them to advocate for Himachal’s interests with central authorities. He highlighted two critical issues:
- Pending Disaster Relief Claims: Rs. 10,000 crore related to disaster-affected areas has been pending with the central government for over 18 months.
- Unreleased NPS Funds: Rs. 9,000 crore under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) is yet to be released.
Focus on Himachal’s Development
Awasthi urged BJP leaders to prioritize resolving these financial issues and contribute to the betterment of the state’s people.
