Dr. Yunus Launches Special Campaign Against Illegal Mining to Curb Offenders

Director of Industries Dr. Yunus said that the department is committed to curbing illegal mining activities and taking swift and effective action against offenders.

He said that in January 2025, the department registered 364 cases of illegal mining and Rs. 10,71,520 compounding fees was imposed in 141 cases. In February 2025, up to 21st February, 238 cases were registered and Rs. 6,37,500 compounding fees was imposed in 92 cases.

Dr. Yunus further stated that on 22nd February, 2025, the department launched a special campaign against illegal mining. As part of this initiative, an additional 117 cases were registered across the state by 6th March, 2025.

Strict action was taken against offenders, and a penalty of Rs. 4,36,700 was imposed on those involved in illegal mining. He emphasized that the department is closely monitoring illegal mining activities and is making every effort to prevent them.

He reaffirmed that strict measures will continue to be implemented to clamp down on illegal mining in the future. Dr. Yunus also highlighted the importance of public cooperation and active participation in making this campaign successful.
