“Good things come to people who wait, but great things come to those who go out and get them” !!!
Chandigarh City lads Aadil Bedi (13) of Vivek High School and Karandeep Kochar (15) of St John High School finished as 1st Runner Up in the B and A Category in the IGU West Bengal Golf Championship held at Kolkatta. Despite wet conditions with mild rain and high humidity at the Tollygunge Golf Club, Kolkata, the opening matches of the winter session were hosted by the Indian Golf Union to finalize the national merit.
With the help of 9 birdies Aadil’s four day score was 74, 75, 76 and 71, while Karandeep Kochar’s four day score was 69, 69, 72 and 75 with the help of 10 birdies. Karan maintained his 1st runner up position right from start of the match and finished 9 strokes behind the winner. Aadil was tied at 4th position after close of third day game, and then he fired a superb 71 on last day, thus strolling to 2nd position on final day after a super control on his nerves and anxiety.
Both players are getting ready to reinforce their positions in the IGU Merit list by finishing in top ranks for the upcoming Eastern India Golf Championship, which begins on 13th October at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club. Both golf prodigies are being trained by Jesse Grewal.
Aadil has shown a precocious ability to play an eclectic selection on Indian and International Courses with great aplomb. His average scores have consistently been in the mid-70s underlining his immense potential even at this tender age. He has already played 165 golf matches and won 102 medals and trophies so far at national and international matches.
