AHS Girls Reflect on History with An Art, Craft and Multi-Disciplinary Exhibition

auck.14.8.15insideTo mark the celebration of the 69th Independence Day, a function was organized at Auckland House Girls School as the programme began with the hoisting of our National Flag, followed by a Hymn ‘Land of Our Birth’, a reading from the scriptures and an impressive narrations in both English and Hindi respectively through which the students acknowledged the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, who laid down their lives, so that we could breathe in free India. The students performed various dances on patriotic songs and performed a skit reflecting on the freedom struggle by brave heroes of the nation.

After celebrations an art, craft and multi-disciplinary exhibition was also held at school showcasing students’ talent. The enthusiastic students displayed various models on the concepts of Science, History, Political Science, Accounts, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Psychology, Economics, Commerce and Mathematics. The exhibition was put up for the parents, who appreciated the efforts put in by their wards and the staff.

auck,14.8.15insideLive models portraying varied characters from Shakespearean plays brought to life the famous speeches of immortal heroes and heroines. The Hindi department enacted scenes from Prakash Nagaich’s famous novel ‘Chandragupta’ which was followed by an awe inspiring portrayal of Subhdra Kumari Chauhan’s patriotic poem ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’.

The art and craft exhibition showcased the budding talent of students through the intricate display of embroidery and handicrafts made by using vibrant colours with myriad themes that infused life into paintings and sketches.

The exhibition which was a grand success was also visited by Michael A. John, Principal, Auckland House School for Boys and the students of this institution, who praised the work of the children.

The day concluded on a positive note with distribution of sweets among the student !
