bcs2Old Cottonions of 1988 batch had a gala time as special guests during the Bishop Cotton School Annual Exhibition held here today. With near hundred per cent participation, the students used innovative and eco-friendly ways to make use of waste items. Ice-cream sticks that are otherwise thrown away were used to make exquisite items. In the science section, students had put up the Signal Lights on battery, a door bell and other very interesting chemistry experiments were performed live. Other items exhibited by the students included paintings, craftwork and geography models.

The most exquisite part of the exhibition was the beautiful artwork by the students. They exquisitely expressed their creativity and talent through various exhibits. Parents also turned up in huge numbers from different parts of the country to see the work of their children. The excitement of parents could be clearly seen by the level of enthusiasm and interest shown in looking at the each and every item displayed in the exhibition.

Talking to some of the parents about their experience, Mrs Singh mother of Preetpal Singh from Punjab said, “The happiness of meeting your child after such a long time doubles up when we see their hard work and things they learn in school”. Mrs Deewan who had come from Delhi, mother of a student whose painting was exhibited said, “My son has been staying in the boarding since last four years so more than us the teachers play an important role of parents in their lives. It gives me immense pleasure to see that the hidden talent in children is brought forward and developed by the teachers, which surprisingly even we are not aware of. It feels great to see such amazing artwork created by our son”.

bcs-1Mr Dipta, father of Anirudh Dipta said, “Every time we come to the exhibition we get to see something new and innovative. The hard work and dedication of the students can be clearly seen in the innovative work exhibited here today”. Another parent Mrs Mehta shared her experience by saying that “This exhibition every year becomes a platform for all the parents to come together and witness the creative development of their children and go home with an assurance that we have made the right decision for our child by sending him to Bishop Cottons”.

School Headmaster, Christopher Robinson congratulated the students as well as the staff for putting up such a breathtaking exhibition. He said, “Exhibitions are a source of knowledge and enjoyment. It also helps the students in enriching their minds with new knowledge. The exhibition is held to provide a platform for children to display their talent. It also boosts their confidence when they get appreciation for their creative talent”.

Headmistress of the Junior School, Dorothy Robinson sharing her thoughts about the exhibition said, “Every stall was decorated conceptually. Deeply immersed in their own creative world, the students of junior school have tried making something unique and interesting under the guidance of their teachers.
