A unique school exhibition at Chalet Day Public School as it embraced analytical, artistic, culinary talents of all the students !!!
The Annual School Exhibition was organized at Chalet Day Public School here today, in the school premises, which was formally inaugurated by Pratima Malhotra, wife of Deputy Commissioner, Dinesh Malhotra. Both the chief guest and the School Principal, Bimla Rathore, were overwhelmed by the passion exhibited and the extensive research work undertaken by all students, as well as the hard work put in by the teachers was equally well appreciated. Students of Classes 5th to 10th displayed their creative, scientific and aesthetic talent presenting innovative and brilliant projects and working models meticulously put together after undertaking lots of exploratory work.
There were some beautiful art and craft pieces and few interesting science experiments demonstrated by the juniors and innovative science projects were on display by the seniors. Talking to a few students who enthusiastically, who took the responsibility of explaining different science projects, Akshun and Kartik of Class 5, told us about the ‘Rain Harvesting Model’, “Rainwater harvesting is a technique used for collecting, storing and using rainwater for landscape irrigation and other uses. Rainwater when collected can be used for several non-drinking functions including washing clothes, watering the garden, washing cars, etc. We have made this model under the guidance of our teachers”.
Prachi and Shashank of Class 6, showed us a model of the ‘Human Digestive System’ and said, “We have picked this particular subject as our model because it is part of our course and was helpful in understanding the topic in a much better way”. Akashdeep Kaur, Ashita Gupta and Sakshi Gupta of Class 5 spoke about ‘Balanced Diet’ and said, “We have made this project under the guidance of our science teacher, Mrs Sheetal. Balanced diet is a very important part of a healthy body and we have tried to convey this message through our model.
Abhinav, Aman and Aahad of Class 7 gave some facts about ‘Wind Energy’ and said, “We have made a windmill machine which shows us the transformation of energy, which turns wind energy into rotational energy through these blades. An amazing fact is that India ranks 5th among the wind energy producing countries of the world and it is the cheapest source for producing energy as well”. Arpit Chauhan of Class 6 told us about the models made by waste, “Students from our class have made paper dolls by using buttons and glitter, sparrows using saabutdana and telephone mats using left over wool and cloth”.
Students of Class 10 demonstrated different Science experiments as well as Geography and Physical Education projects including a project on NHAI and the Himalayan Expressway by Anurag Mattoo and Shubham, who said, “We have made a Geography project on highways. It shows how trees had been cut to make the Himalayan Expressway. Our motive behind making this model is to give a message that how nature has come under threat with the betterment of our infrastructure”. Another duo namely, Raghav Chopra and Lalit Gill said, “We have presented a very interesting experiment to demonstrate the electroplating of copper”.
Other demonstrations and equally impressive projects included ‘Types of Motion’ by Shreya Rana, Kavita Pathania; ‘Electromagnetism’ by Naman Flora; ‘Induced Magnetism’ by Khushboo Chandel; ‘Heating Effect of Electric Current’ by Ajay Sharma; ‘Series of Parallel Combination’ by Ashish Sharma; ‘Electric Bell’ by Raghav Chopra; ‘Hydroelectric Power Plant’ by Jai and Kriti; ‘Football Playfield by Harul Kartikey and Kuldeep; ‘Excretory System by Dheeraj and Dixit; ‘Pollination’ by Vanshika and Ayushi; ‘Conduction of Heater by Vibhanshu and Mukul; ‘Stomata’ by Abhinav Thakur and Sanskriti; and ‘Advance Balanced Diet’ by Shagun Thakur, Bhavna and Dikshu among many others.
The parents also turned up in large numbers to see the work put up by their children. Mrs Mattoo, mother of Anurag Mattoo of Class 10 was quite elated on seeing her son’s project, “Anurag had been working really hard for his Geography project. I am very proud to see the final result of his hard work”. Another parent Mrs Sharma said, “It feels great to see the work of your children displayed in an exhibition. We had not seen what he had made as he wanted to keep it a surprise for us as well”. Mrs Chauhan , mother of Arpit Chauhan said, “It is always a pleasure to see our kids doing something innovative. The best part about the projects put up in the exhibition is that everything has been done in the school. The kids have done all this on their without our help.
