CM Sukhu stated today that the core success of e-governance lies in its ability to make everyday life simpler, faster, and more accessible for citizens, especially those residing in remote areas. Addressing a two-day national conference on administrative reforms and e-governance in Dharamshala, attended by senior policymakers and technology experts from across the country, he emphasized moving beyond traditional administrative frameworks toward a transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance system.Highlighting state administrative achievements under the motto of Vyavastha Parivartan, Chief Minister Sukhu noted that targeted digital initiatives and systemic reforms have significantly elevated key sectors across Himachal Pradesh. Priority efforts in education brought the state from the 21st position in 2021 to 5th place nationwide. In healthcare, the introduction of robotic surgery, replacement of outdated medical equipment, and an increase in postgraduate medical seats have transformed state medical colleges, reducing the need for residents to seek expensive treatments elsewhere.
To empower the 90 percent of the population residing in rural regions, the state government has strengthened the local economy through record Minimum Support Prices for milk and naturally grown produce. Citizens now access essential public services from home through the Single Window Citizen Portal and Lok Mitra Kendras. Long-standing land disputes are being resolved rapidly through the Revenue Management System and Lok Adalats, while public grievances filed on the CM Helpline remain open until citizens confirm full satisfaction.
Underlining social security measures, Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted the legal designation of orphaned children as Children of the State, ensuring full government support for their upbringing, housing, and higher education. He also drew attention to the environmental contributions of hill states like Himachal Pradesh toward national ecological security, calling for equitable financial assistance and fair evaluation regarding water cess, hydropower, and disaster management costs. DARPG Secretary Nivedita Shukla Verma and HP SC Kamlesh Kumar Pant praised these progressive administrative innovations and stressed the continuous upgrading of digital tools to serve the public effectively.
