Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday inaugurated and dedicated key development projects worth Rs. 16.26 crore in the Amb sub-division of Una district, aimed at improving road and bridge infrastructure and enhancing connectivity for local residents.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the upgraded Takarla–Baduhi via Nei-Abadi road, developed at a cost of Rs. 6.57 crore. This nearly 5-kilometre stretch will directly benefit over 11,000 residents of the area.

In addition, Sukhu dedicated the 6.50-km Amb–Gagret–Harijan Basti road and an adjoining bridge, completed at an outlay of Rs. 9.50 crore. The new bridge is expected to significantly improve connectivity for the Chintpurni and Gagret Assembly constituencies.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Samarthya Gyandeep Library and Gymnasium at Maidi Khas, constructed at a cost of around Rs. 20 lakh. The facility will support the educational, intellectual, and physical development of local youth.

Addressing the gathering, CM Sukhu said that roads and bridges are not just physical structures but “bridges of development, opportunities, and self-reliance” for villages. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every citizen and that balanced, sustainable growth is promoted across rural areas.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also listened to public grievances and interacted with residents. Local MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu expressed gratitude to Sukhu, noting that these projects would directly benefit residents and give fresh momentum to the region’s development.
