CM Sukhu today paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, at Chaura Maidan on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister described Dr. Ambedkar as a visionary statesman and a great social reformer who devoted his life to ensuring equality, justice, and dignity for marginalized and deprived sections of society. He said that Dr. Ambedkar played a pivotal role in framing the Constitution, guaranteeing equal rights to all citizens and laying a strong foundation for India’s democratic values.
Highlighting his contributions, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Ambedkar consistently worked for social harmony and empowerment of the weaker sections of society. He emphasized that Ambedkar viewed education as a powerful tool for building an equitable society and urged people to draw inspiration from his ideals and principles.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the statue titled ‘Architect of Equality’ in honour of Dr. Ambedkar, stating that his legacy continues to inspire the nation in its journey towards a more inclusive and progressive India.
Devotional songs were also presented by artists of the Information and Public Relations Department during the ceremony.
