Auckland House School hosted its annual Middle Section Speech Day today, bringing together a lively blend of music, theatre, and dance to recognize student achievements across academics, sports, and co-curriculars.

Divided into two segments—a Variety Entertainment Programme and the Celebration of Excellence—the event featured Forms III to V students displaying their arts capabilities. Highlights included piano recitals, choir numbers, regional folk dances from Kashmir, Haryana, and Sambalpur, and a musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Students also staged a Hindi play titled Paani Aa Gaya, delivering a poignant social message through performance.

Principal Smaraki Samantaroy delivered the school’s annual report during the award ceremony, underscoring Auckland House’s focus on holistic growth before presenting honors to meritorious students.
“Speech Day celebrates the many dimensions of a child’s growth,” Samantaroy stated. “Our students have shown that education is not limited to academic achievement but also involves developing confidence, creativity, discipline and the ability to express oneself.”

The event’s Chief Guest, Dr. Deepali Dhaul, Associate Professor of English and Chairperson of the Sanskrit Department at Himachal Pradesh University, commended the young participants for their stage presence and collaboration.
“Education is not merely about acquiring knowledge; it is about developing the confidence to think, the sensitivity to understand and the courage to express,” Dr. Dhaul noted. “The performances today reflect discipline, creativity and teamwork.”
The celebrations concluded with prize distributions, a vote of thanks, and the singing of the National Anthem.
