The annual Inter-House Drama Competition took place at Loreto Convent Tara Hall School on 9th August, 2014, which was formally inaugurated by the School Principal Sister Stephanie. The girls staged four different plays during this event namely, Kramash, the master of the house, Highwayman, The Puppet and Mother’s Day. The judges for the event were school teachers, namely, Dr Usha Bande, Gurdeep Aluwalia and Luxmi Singh.
The Puppet performed by the girls of Nehru House was the story about a handicapped girl who is abandoned by her parents and adopted by a puppet maker. Through this play the artists gave away a social message of loving a girl child and birth of a girl child is blessing in disguise. The girls who took part in this remarkable play were Deepshri, Divanshi Thakur, Manavi Jain, Ridhi Sood, Anjali, Diksha, Aditi, Kavya, Nivedita, Shreya, Ishtha, Ritika, Avatika, Akshita, Tejas, Kashish, Aarushi, Pragya, Subika, Ananya, Simran, Aayush, Divya, Poshal, Pranjal, Aayushi, Divyasha and Kirti.
The girls of Ashok House illustrated diverse traits in a human such as love, greed and betrayal. Tagore House highlighted on the importance of love and sacrifice in life of a human being and Shakespeare House portrayed the role of a woman in a family.
As the programme concluded, Sister Stephanie congratulated all the students on their brilliant performances and said, “All the participants have performed astonishingly well. The selection of plays by the students was remarkable. This competition gives an opportunity to the young girls to exhibit their talent along with learning a great amount of team work”. All the performances were also deeply appreciated by the judges and teachers of the school.
