Governor Releases Book on Human Rights in Ancient Indian Governance

Governor Kavinder Gupta officially released the book Human Rights in Kautilya’s Arthashastra, written by retired Principal Dr. Jayant Kumar Sharma, during a ceremony at Lok Bhavan today.

Praising the scholar’s research, the Governor noted that Dr. Sharma conducted an exhaustive study on statecraft, administration, and science to present a thorough analysis of ancient human rights protections.

Governor Gupta emphasized that the publication offers valuable perspective on how human rights have evolved into the modern age, expressing confidence that it will deepen understanding of human rights in public governance. Commending Dr. Sharma’s ongoing dedication to academic discourse, he encouraged him to continue his scholarly pursuits.

During the event, author Dr. Prem Lal Gautam also presented copies of his works, Chetna Ke Unmesh and Kalyani, to the Governor. Prominent attendees included Rajinder Bhardwaj, Amita Bhardwaj, and Vimla Sharma.
