Bringing the timeless epic of the Ramayana to life, school students from across the country delivered a spellbinding Ramlila performance at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni. Presiding over the grand event, Governor Kavinder Gupta reminded the young audience that Lord Shri Ram’s life offers an enduring blueprint for truth, duty, and moral courage in the modern world.
The event, hosted in collaboration with the International Ramlila Mahotsav Association, showcased how India’s rich cultural heritage continues to guide character development. Reflecting on the epic’s core figures, the Governor highlighted how Lord Shri Ram symbolizes integrity and responsibility, Mata Sita embodies resilience, Lakshman represents selfless devotion, Bharat signifies sacrifice, and Lord Hanuman inspires through courage and humility. He emphasized that true success is realized when personal skills and knowledge are used for the greater good of society and the nation.
Adding a major boost to campus infrastructure, Governor Gupta laid the foundation stones for new girls’ and boys’ hostels, valued at approximately Rs 4 crore, funded through ICAR via his special initiative. The day concluded with the Governor feliciting student performers and enjoying the vibrant Ramlila presentation alongside Vice-Chancellor Harminder Singh Baweja.
