Science came alive for the students of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Sarog this Sunday, as a Sky Gazing and Astronomy Awareness Programme transformed abstract classroom lessons into a real-world journey across the cosmos.

Conceptualized and organized by teacher Meenakshi Chaudhary, the initiative brought scientists from Shoolini University alongside astronomy expert Pooja to the campus. The event kicked off in the school library with a lively 90-minute discussion covering everything from our Solar System, planets, and galaxies to the 88 officially recognized constellations. The interactive format kept students on their toes, inviting a wave of eager questions about the mysteries of deep space.

The true highlight of the evening unfolded during the live telescope observation session. Minds were blown as students caught crisp views of Saturn’s iconic rings and its massive moon, Titan—celestial bodies they had previously only seen on printed pages and computer screens.

Beyond providing a night of wonder and refreshments, the hands-on event ignited fresh curiosity and a genuine passion for scientific inquiry among the youth. The school management praised Meenakshi Chaudhary for spearheading an initiative that bridged the gap between theory and reality, making October 4 an unforgettable night of discovery for the young learners of Sarog.
