Health Minister Reviews Preparations for International Yoga Day

Today a high level meeting was convened presided over by Health & Family Welfare and AYUSH Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal to review the preparations of International Yoga Day-2022. He apprised that this year International Yoga Day is being celebrated at the behest of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and under instructions of the Union Ministry of AYUSH with the theme “Yoga for Humanity”. He said that UN General Assembly took a historic decision in 2014 at the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare 21st June as International Day of Yoga (IDY).

Dr. Saizal said that the department of AYUSH being the nodal department in the state has made elaborate arrangements for the celebration with active cooperation of all stakeholders at 120 locations of public importance across the State besides other 1200 rural locations at AHC level. The Minister asserted that this grand event will be made meaningful and successful with the maximum public participation and publicity through media to mark the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”. He has appealed to all the public representatives to participate in large number in their respective venues to make this international event a grand success. The meeting was attended by the Secretary AYUSH Rajeev Sharma, Director AYUSH Vinay Singh and other senior departmental officers.
