Taravati Ram Gopal Mehra Foundation Scholarship shared by Mohit Sood, UKG A  and  John C Koshy, I B

Tiny tots of Auckland House School for Boys gave some brilliant and dazzling performances during their Annual Speech Day here today, as Principal, DAV Senior Secondary School, Kamna Beri presided over the function as the Chief Guest. She was warmly welcomed by the School Principal Micheal A John and the Director Principal Auckland House School Sunita John. Pawan Sharma, Headmaster St Xaviers School, Sanjauli, was also present to attend the function. The annual function began with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest followed by a blessing song by the school choir, junior section.

What followed next was sheer entertainment, which showcased the talent and hard work of the little ones. The English play about the magical elves and their good deeds, “The Elves and the Shoe Maker” was very well presented by the students of Form UKG, I and II, followed by an action song “Jesus Loves Me” by Nursery and Kindergarten kids. Next was an eye opening Nukaad Natak titled “Jal Hai Toh Kal Hai”, in which the students emphasized on the importance of water and how every drop should be saved. Wastage in any form would only affect our future and without water our very existence would be futile.

Love for chocolate was sweetly seen in the performance by the students of Nursery and Lower Kindergarten in the dance number “Chocolate Ka Bangla’. Other equally mesmerizing song and dance performances were the “Chanda Suraj” and a Pahari number “Lal Chidiya”, followed by the “Star Jump” action song. The Colours of Rajasthan were shown by the kids of Form UKG, I and II, while another action song about ‘Memory Lane’ was loving and cute. The grand finale was the foot tapping and lively Bhangra dance celebrating “Veer Da Vyah”.

After some amazing and scintillating performances by the kids, the hugely loved and applauded variety programme came to an end after which the Principal read a brief report about the activities and achievements of the students and the school during the current academic year. The Chief Guest Kamna Beri then took the dais and congratulated all the children for putting up an amazing show and lauded the efforts of the school management and the faculty in making this day a huge success. She said, “Students should focus on their strengths and not their weaknesses as they are born to succeed and flourish in life. Look for the inborn talents you have as each one of us has something unique in us which we should nurture and work on. Also parents should not compare children with other students as it is always demoralizing, instead they should boost the morale of their kids”. She further added that children should always be ready to accept challenges and strive to work for the better.

The parents too were very excited on seeing their wards perform with such confidence and poise showcasing their talent. Pawan Sharma, Headmaster St Xaviers School, said, “The cultural variety programme was just fabulous and brilliant, and it amazes me to see the little ones perform so well. It shows the hard work of the school, faculty and also the parents for grooming their children to such levels”. Dr Rajeev Mehta, father of Hemansh Mehta of Form II, was quite elated and happy to see his son perform in the one act play. Another reason to for his happiness was that his son also won the Form Prize. Kamna Thakur, mother of Akshez Thakur of Form UKG enjoyed the programme thoroughly and was very happy to see her son in the Bhangra dance. She said, “The function was very entertaining and the best part was the Rajasthani dance and the Bhangra”.

The day ended with the prize distribution by the chief guest and celebrations by the students on a yet another successful speech day performance !!!
