L-FRNTStudents of Laureate Public School, Bharari, Shimla celebrated their annual day today, in the school premises where Professor Rajinder Singh Chauhan, Pro- Vice-Chancellor Himachal Pradesh University, presided as the Chief Guest for the occasion along with other distinguished guests. They were all warmly welcomed by the School Principal, Dr. Meera Singh. The annual function began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a Saraswati Vandana by the students. Dr. Singh then read the school report and informed everyone about the achievements of the students and the school as it was a proud moment for all.

On one hand while everyone was overwhelmed with the achievement of students, all were taken aback by the amazing cultural programme which had an amalgamation of various cultures and themes as students presented a variety of performances showcasing cuteness in dance performance by Nursery class students, followed by “Every Thing at Once” dance performance by Kindergarten students or the humorous form of Karele ki Shaadi dance by Classes I and II.

L3Our cultural roots were showcased in form of dance performances such as Kathak, Sanskrit Play – Karan Bhram; few dances from around the country like Chamba, Tarana Kathak, Ladakh, Gujarati Dandiya, Bhangra, Bhojpuri, Himachali Nati and Rajasthani. Other than that Kawali, a song – Life is Beautiful, and an English Play – Every Man won the hearts of all present.

While speaking on the occasion School Principal Dr. Singh said, “Our aim is not only to focus on academic excellence but also on all round development of students so that they excel in all fields. We take the responsibility of grooming the students in all spheres so that they develop strength, confidence and courage to face the challenges in life.”

“In order to inculcate competitive spirit and provide opportunity to the students to show their abilities, we encourage all students to participate in academic and co-curricular activities organized at different levels by the government and other bodies. At the state level competitions organized by H.P. State Council for Science Technology and Environment, on Bio-diversity Day and World Environment Day, our school participated in the events of painting, quiz, poster making competitions and environment rally. Dimple Bhardwaj of Class 8 won the second prize in painting and Aadarsh of Class 9 got a special prize in the quiz competition. Our school won the trophy for Clean and Green School in Shimla and we were given a cash prize of Rs.3000”, she informed further. “In sports too our school has won numerous medals in the year gone by and hence I am very proud of my students and teachers whose hard work has paid off”, she added.

L1Whereas speaking on occasion Chief Guest Professor Rajinder said, “I am feeling very proud and overwhelmed with the performances of the students.
