Eloquence, rhythm, and spirited competition filled the hall at Bishop Cotton School as thirteen top schools from across the hill city went head-to-head at the B.L. Modi Inter-School English Elocution Competition. Chief Guest Ms. Oshin Sharma, Joint Director, AYUSH, set an inspiring tone for the day, praising the young speakers for their remarkable poise and command of the language as students brought literature to life through expressive poetry and dramatic prose.
The competition saw exceptional talent across three distinct age divisions. In the Elementary category for Classes IV and V, Kiaan Chawla of Bishop Cotton School took home the Best Speaker title, while Avneet Kaur of Shimla Public School and Devishi of Loreto Convent, Tara Hall, were named the Most Promising performers.
The middle categories witnessed equally captivating deliveries. Amaira from Convent of Jesus and Mary clinched the Best Speaker award in the Junior division for Classes VI and VII, with Maanvendra Singh Thakur of Bishop Cotton School and Advaita Chauhan of DAV Senior Secondary Public School, New Shimla, earning Most Promising recognitions. Meanwhile, Abhimanyu Jaggi of DAV New Shimla bagged the Best Speaker trophy in the Intermediate division for Class VIII, alongside Most Promising honorees Janya Butail of Convent of Jesus & Mary and Mairahh Singh of Loreto Convent, Tara Hall.
Celebrating both literary excellence and camaraderie, Bishop Cotton School commended all participants for their stellar eloquence and sportsmanship, bringing another memorable edition of the historic competition to a triumphant close.
