Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 11 developmental projects worth Rs. 17 crore in Mandi Sadar assembly constituency of Mandi district today. Chief Minister inaugurated Rs. 1.74 crore administrative block at Government Senior Secondary School Kotli, Rs. 8.04 crore double lane bridge over Ratti khad on Mandi Rewalsar Kalkhar road, Rs. 70 lakh bridge over Jablai Nalla to Barnota, Karkoh road, Rs. 47 lakh steel truss bridge over Ratti khad at Damru. He performed opening ceremonies of the third electrical circle in HPPWD department Mandi, opening of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Randhara, PHC Kot, PHC Majhwar and upgradation of PHC Pandoh to Community Health Centre (CHC). He also laid foundation stones of Rs. 56 lakh foot-bridge over Ratti khad from Sai to Raghbanu and Rs. 67 lakh Veterinary Hospital building Talyahar at Ratti Pul tehsil Sadar. While addressing the massive public meeting on the occasion of ‘Pragtisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ function at Kotli in Mandi district, Jai Ram Thakur said that the State was celebrating 75 years of its existence and it was an appropriate time to ponder over the fact that what we have achieved and what still is need to be achieved.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav’ has urged the people to hoist Tricolour on their houses and on his call the whole Nation flew the National Flag on their houses. Jai Ram Thakur said that during all these 75 years, the Government got support, cooperation and assistance from every Himachali to make the State stand where it stands today. He said that credit of this outstanding achievement goes to every farmer, every youth, every employee, every leader and every Himachali who worked with zeal and commitment. He said that the State at the time of existence had only four districts and its population was only 11 lakh, whereas today the State has 12 districts and over 70 lakh population. He said that the State had only 228 kms roads in 1948, whereas today the road length has increased to nearly 40,000 kms. He said that credit for this also goes to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who started Pradhan Mantri Gram Sarad Yojna (PMGSY). He said that this proved a boon to ensuring rural connectivity in a hilly state like Himachal Pradesh as over 20,000 kms roads in the State were constructed under the PMGSY. Jai Ram Thakur said that the present State Government was about to complete its term and during all this period, the State Government has ensured balanced and equitable development of the State.
He said that opposition leaders were making baseless and false allegations with an eye on the elections. He said that the people of the State would not get carried away by their false promises and tall claims as they know that there was sea difference between the claims and deeds of these leaders. He said that the Congress leaders speak of the ‘Virbhadra Singh model’, but the fact was that the whole world was today acknowledging the ‘Modi Model’, which has made India the fifth biggest economy of the world. The Congress leaders were highly opposing the slogan of ‘Reewaz Badlege’ (will change the tradition of changing the State Government). He said that the present State Government has changed the tradition of politics of vengeance and vendetta. The State was even divided on the bases of colours of cap. He said that the congress leader was even boasting that how a commoner can achieve what could not be achieved by a towering leader Virbhadra Singh. Jai Ram Thakur said that a political party with no guarantee of its own was giving ten guarantees to woo the voters. He said that the present State Government was spending Rs. 1300 crore on providing social security pension as compared to only Rs. 400 crore spent by the previous State Government. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be addressing a Youth Rally at Paddal Ground Mandi on 24th September and he urged the youth to participate in this rally in large numbers.
He said that the present BJP State Government would surely again form the Government in the State. Chief Minister said that Anil Sharma was a BJP leader and would collectively work for the development of Mandi district and the constituency. He said that all the genuine demands of the constituency would be considered sympathetically. MLA Mandi Sadar Anil Sharma said that Himachal Pradesh has made unmatched development in all spheres of development and credit of this goes to the successive Governments and hardworking people of the State. He said that the role of former Union Minister Pandit Sukh Ram in development of the State was immense and was known as the father of the Telecom revolution in the country. He said that he was still the MLA of BJP and always working for development of the area and the district. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area. Former MLA D.D. Thakur also welcomed the Chief Minister and said that the Rs. 200 crore Shiv Dham would prove an added attraction for the tourists. He also thanked the Chief Minister for opening a second State University at Mandi. Panchayat Simiti President Bhuvnesh Thakur also spoke on the occasion and assured the Chief Minister that the people of Mandi Sadar would ensure victory of BJP candidate in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
He also urged the Chief Minister to open the HRTC Sub Depot at Kotli to facilitate the people of the area. President BJP Mandal Mandi Sadar Manish Kapoor welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion and thanked the Chief Minister for various developmental projects for the constituency. He said that Municipal Corporation at Mandi was possible due to the benevolence of the Chief Minister. He also detailed a few developmental demands of the area. Former MLA Kanhaiya Lal, Chairman Zila Parishad Pal Verma, General Secretary Child Welfare Council Payal Vaidya, District BJP President Ranveer Singh, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri were present on the occasion among others.
