Students of Hainault Public School were upbeat and cheerful, full of positive vibes as they took on the field to participate in the Annual Inter House Athletic Meet – 2013. In continuation to the precursor of events held on 13th September, 2013 for the Junior Section, the day began with the March Past which was led by the School Captain, Danish Sharma, followed by the Head Girl, Aishwarya Kaith and the Head Boy, Akshit Shah. They were then followed by the four houses — Indira House: Captain Kritika Nalwa and Vice Captain Ashish Sharma; Nehru House: Captain Vishal Negi and Vice Captain Tripti Birla; Subhash House: Captain Aakash Palsar and Vice Captain: Sindhuja Sharma; and Tagore House: Captain Shivani Devrani and Vice Captain Prashant Bhardwaj. The Guard was Honour was taken by the Principal, Ritu Pal after which she declared the events open.
The events for the Athletic Meet were planned over two days — 26th and 27th September due to the number of events and the increased number of participation. Events that took place on 26th were the High Jump and the Long Jump. Prior to this date track events took place for which the results have been given below. The enthusiasm and thrill of the sports saw many children actively come forth to participate in various events. Despite some disappointing High Jump attempts children were still motivated to try again and again till they succeeded. The hard falls too were ignored and clothes dusted off before trying again. The fight for the first place between Akshay Sharma and Ritesh Sharma went on for quite some time before the final result could be achieved, but the spirits couldn’t be dampened irrespective of the results.
After this the students lined up for the Long Jump. Each house was seen cheering for his team mate and the ground was resounded by the loud claps. The excitement of the students was well reflected among the teachers too as they too were eager to see who finished first.
Principal, Ritu Pal distributed medals to all the winners and the events were carried forward to the next day. Details of results declared on 26th September are given below.
