Service Day Celebrated in BSN School, Chakkar

To commemorate the Founders’ Day and celebrate the birth anniversary of its doyen, Usha Sharma, Principal and students of BSN School observed Service Day here today, with full fanfare and festivities. Usha Sharma laid the foundation of the school in 1974. Principal Kalpana Sharma that every year we celebrate 21st June as Service Day, and further informed that people who needed help in any form were identified and for there upliftment in the society we try to make a difference. Through such social acts and service, our children also learn many things and understand the importance of sharing and giving.

On this occasion a student of nursery class helped a physically challenged girl, while student of class kindergarten present a small play through which they gave a message of helping others. Students of Class I distributed books and copies, bags and lunch boxes, as students of Class II and II helped the tiny tots by guiding them and giving them due respect. Everyone played an important part as students of Class IV gave books, bags and eatables to children of Gorkha Samiti, while Class V students helped children living in sheds near Tavi Road by giving them food and books. Students of Class VI gave slippers and shoes to poor ladies residing in the area, and also spent some quality time with children living in the nearby Bal Ashram. Some students also visited a gaushala and helped the residents in cleaning the place while having an interactive talk session with the people there, learning about their lives and hardships.

On this day an Inter-Class Salad and Table Layout Competition was also held. In this students of Class IX stood first, Class X stood second and there was a tie for the third place with Classes VIII and VI bagging it together. Students participating in this competition were Jyotsna Chaudhary, Tanya, Sneh and Anshika from Class VI; Sakshi, Dikshita, Varsha and Ishita from Class VII; Shivangi, Rajni, Niharika and Ashish were from Class VIII; Urvika, Harsha and Kashish were from Class IX; and Ankita, Sarita, Aanchal and Himani were from Class X.
