Attending the ‘Nari Tu Narayani’ event organized by Himachal Dastak, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted key government initiatives aimed at uplifting rural communities and empowering women.
The Chief Minister announced that the state is prioritizing rural economic growth by establishing 150 CBSE schools in villages, ensuring rural children access high-quality education without moving to urban centers. All merit-based teacher appointments for these schools will be completed by September 30, 2026, while retaining the existing fee structure. To empower farmers and livestock owners, the state has raised milk procurement prices to ₹61 per liter for cow milk and ₹71 per liter for buffalo milk, backed by nearly ₹200 crore in Minimum Support Price (MSP) funding this year.
Additionally, a 1.5-lakh-liter daily capacity milk processing plant at Dagwar in Kangra district will operationalize by October, while MSP benefits extend to naturally farmed wheat, maize, and turmeric. Key reforms have already pushed Himachal Pradesh’s national education ranking from 21st in 2021 to 5th today. The CM also highlighted healthcare upgrades, the state’s first science college in Hamirpur, foreign exposure trips for students, and strict anti-drug enforcement under the PIT-NDPS Act, with Phase 2 launching from Una on September 16.
